Brandon Vera has been working on his ground skills, because he knows most other fighters see him as a stand-up fighter. But now he say’s he welcomes any fighter who wishes to put him on the ground this time. In typical Brandon self hype mode, he tells mmaweekley.com in a interview.

“You take me to the ground this year, you’re going to get submitted,” “I’ll tell you that much right now.”

“We’re going to bang man. I don’t think he’ll take me to the ground,” Vera commented about Jones. “He’s with a new camp, he’s with (Greg) Jackson’s and them. They’re good game plan people so he might try to take me to the ground, but I tell you this much in 2010, my jiu-jitsu game I’ve been tightening back up.”

In the next statement he mentioned someone going to sleep. I’m guessing he’s saying someone is getting knocked out.

“Jones, he’s got the skills; he’ll stand with me. Somebody’s going to go to sleep.”
