Fedor Still High On Dana White’s Priority List
For as long as the Russian powerhouse has dominated the MMA world, there have been talks of what would happen if Fedor Emelianenko were to enter the UFC. With the fall of Pride FC, the UFC saw an influx of fighters who had once been higher ranks for the defunct rival promotion. Emelianenko, perhaps the most anticipated Pride fighter however, did not join the others.
UFC chairman Dana White has been trying for quite some time to bring Fedor over, but to no avail. After the latest talks fell through when Fedor turned down a highly lucrative contract, many all but gave up on the possibility of a potential Fedor Emelianenko vs Brock Lesnar superfight. Dana White admits however, that he has yet to give up. In recent talks with White, Yahoo Sports reports the following…
“has become my obsession now. I want it worse than the fans want it.” He said he spoke with Emelianenko’s management about a UFC contract “more recently than you would think.” He was coy when asked about Emelianenko’s contract with Strikeforce and CBS, saying only: “I would never interfere with someone else’s contract.”
