Shane Carwin Disappointed At Saturday Night’s Brawl

In the following week we have seen some less than sportsmanlike displays at both the UFC and Strikeforce’s latest cards. Anderson Silva’s debacle vs Demian Maia at UFC 112 was the center of the MMA world last week, and now sems to have already been replaced by a new incident. Saturday night’s post-main event melee at Strikeforce.

At a time where it seems that many modern martial artists are no longer concerned with holding up the value of honor that their early counterparts once did, UFC Heavyweight Interim Champ Shane Carwin speaks what is already on a lot of fans mind’s.

From Twitter:

“Just no room for this kind of stuff in the sport. We are just feeding the ignorant critics, and on live TV no less. From what I read those guys should be ashamed of themselves. This is not a barnyard brawl. These actions are not needed in this sport!”

“Got to blame the Shields camp here. This is not crips vs. bloods, it is a sport that requires SPORTSMANSHIP. Seems basic.”

Ever since his emergence in the UFC’s Heavyweight division, Shane Carwin has been nothing but a class act. So far Carwin has proven to be a well spoken gentleman outside of the cage, and a true force inside.
