This is the latest speed bump in Parisyan’s once thriving career. Back in 2005, “the Heat” was scheduled to face Matt Hughes for the welterweight title, but had to drop out due to injury. In the following years, Parisyan suffered from panic attacks, putting his reliability into question. His anxiety eventually led Parisyan to seek pharmaceutical help, resulting in a failed drug test following his bout with Dong Hyun Kim in early 2009.

There has been no word from Parisyan’s camp on where the welterweight may end up. Perhaps an affiliation with DREAM or Bellator is in his future.
UPDATE: Parisyan has signed with Impact FC in Australia. He is scheduled to face Luis Dutra Jr. on July 10.
